Kyle Brostrand joined the Rutgers Athletics Department in 2014 and currently serves as an Assistant Director of Athletic Training, overseeing the medical care for the Scarlet Knights men’s soccer program. Brostrand also serves as Coordinator of Concussion Management & Research for the Sports Health department.
In his role as Coordinator of Concussion Management, Brostrand is responsible for organizing and overseeing current return to play and return to learn protocols for all Rutgers student-athletes who may sustain a concussion. He also provides clinical care and rehabilitation services for athletes with prolonged symptoms following concussions. Brostrand is also involved in several research studies and is an active member in the Big Ten - Ivy League Traumatic Brain Injury Research Collaboration.
Brostrand joined Rutgers as an intern athletic trainer working with football and gymnastics before being elevated to full-time status.
Prior to his time at Rutgers, Brostrand worked as a graduate assistant with the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League.
Brostrand received a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from Rutgers University and a Master of Science degree in Athletic Training from Seton Hall University. He is certified in Myofascial Decompression, Graston and Blood Flow Restriction rehabilitation techniques.
