At Rutgers: (2018): Rowed in first-place varsity eight in season-opening sweep of Columbia (3/24) ... earned Rutgers’ first-ever Big Ten Boat of the Week honors following win over Columbia ... rowed in winning varsity eight and captured team victory at Cherry Hill Invitational (4/21) ... rowed in third-place varsity eight finish at the Eastern Sprints (4/29) ... guided RU to its best finish in the Big Ten Championship, placing sixth in the varsity eight (5/13).
Prior to Rutgers: Competed on the J.E.B. Stuart HS crew team from 2012-15 … was a co-captain and the MVP in 2014 … helped the Varsity 4 to a second-place finish in 2013 and third-place finish in 2012 at the Virginia Scholastic Rowing Championships … at the SRAA National Championships, competed in 2012 and 2013 on the Varsity 4 … saw action at the Prince William Rowing Club Erg Sprints in 2013, placing third … an all-met honorable motional selection in 2014 … also competed for TBC Racing in 2013 and 2014 … raced with TBC at USRowing Club Nationals in 2013, competing in the Varsity 8 events from 2013-14 and in the Varsity 4 competition in 2014 … an Honorable Mention USRowing Scholarship Honor Roll selection in 2014-15 … played on the J.E.B. Stuart basketball team throughout high school career, earning varsity MVP honors and all-conference honorable mention laurels … a National Honor Society member and honor roll student.
Personal: Daughter of Christine and Bruce … has one sibling, Eric … a first degree black belt in karate … her grandfather, John Genis, played football at Illinois during the team’s Rose Bowl victory in 1947.
