Rich Alberto enters his sixth season with the program in 2020-21, serving roles as Director of Operations and Volunteer Assistant Coach. A Rutgers University alumnus, Alberto joined the RU staff in 2014 after working with numerous club programs.
Alberto, who holds a United States Soccer Federation “B” License, is responsible for the daily operations of the women’s soccer program. His other certifications include a National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) “Premier” Diploma and a Prozone Level 1 Certification. Most recently, he was the first assistant coach at New Jersey City University and was involved with the Rutgers Soccer Camps.
Prior to his stint at New Jersey City University, Alberto worked with the N.J. Wildcats as a W-League assistant coach and served as the U10 “Lopez” Associate Head Coach under Tom Napoli.
Aside from his coaching duties, Alberto has experience as a soccer trainer. Since 2012 he has worked with the Jersey Knights Soccer Club as the head coach and trainer for U18 boys. Alberto also served as the men’s USL-PDL assistant coach for the NJ Rangers from 2010-12.
Alberto’s soccer coaching experience can be traced back further to his time as a student “On the Banks,” when he served as the Rutgers University Department of Club Sports Men’s Soccer head coach as a senior from 2009-10.
A native of Clark, New Jersey, Alberto earned his bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University in 2010 as a double major in economics and Portuguese.
