Rutgers Defeats Seton Hall for First BIG EAST Win

The Scarlet Knights were led by Shayla Bush (Spokane, WA), who posted 20 kills and 13 digs for her 12th double-double of the season, which leads the team. With her 13 digs, Bush moved into a tie for fifth place on the RU all-time list for career digs. She now has 861 in her career. Bush is currently ranked second in the conference in both kills per game (4.44) and digs per game (4.46). Senior co-captain Pualani Tuyay (San Diego, CA) recorded 60 assists and 11 digs. Tuyay is ranked second in the BIG EAST with an average of 12.07 assists per game. Sophomore Dawn Christjaener (Huntington Beach, CA) posted a career-high 26 digs in the match, eclipsing her previous best of 24, set earlier this season. Junior Sandra Nunner (Muenster, Germany) contributed 17 kills and nine digs, while sophomore Stephanie Travioli (Arlington, TX) notched her second double-double of the season, with 13 kills and 13 digs.
Seton Hall was led by Tara Brooks, who had 10 kills and 10 digs.
Rutgers will have the rest of the weekend off, and return to action on Friday, Oct. 25, at Boston College. The BIG EAST Conference match-up is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
