PISCATAWAY, NJ - The Rutgers women’s crew hosted
Princeton and Columbia on the Raritan River April 5, earning second-place finishes
in the second varsity, second novice and third varsity four races.
Princeton (6:53.0), ranked second in this week’s USRowing Women’s
Varsity Eight Poll, won the varsity race, followed by Columbia (7:02.6) and
Rutgers (7:06.2).
In the second varsity, Princeton (7:09.4) finished ahead of RU (7:31.0) and
the Lions (7:39.9).
The Tigers (7:27.6) also won the first novice race, defeating Columbia (7:40.2)
and the Scarlet Knights (7:46.6).
Rutgers (7:59.7) finished second to Princeton (7:38.5) in the second novice
eight, and the Tigers (8:15.2) finished the sweep with a win in the third varsity
four, ahead of Rutgers (8:29.1) and Columbia (9:13.7).
The Scarlet Knights will next be in action Sunday, April 6, when RU hosts Connecticut
on the Raritan River at 11:30 a.m.
