The event was a production of the Beez Foundation - a nonprofit, charitable organization which raises money and public awareness to cure brain cancer through research, public awareness and related support activities for pediatric cancer treatment.
The day’s activities included a softball tournament and many free activities for the children, including speed pitch, coloring contests, bean bag toss, tattoos and face painting.
“Doing community service is part of giving back to the community for what it’s done for the University,” said head coach Pat Willis. “It was a fun time and the players really enjoyed the children. It was a good way to raise money for a great cause.”
