Arlak Named Women's Tennis Assistant Coach

PISCATAWAY, NJ - Alexandra Arlak has been named an assistant coach with the Rutgers women's tennis program, head coach Ben Bucca has announced.
Since her graduation from Brown in 2005, Arlak, a native of Leonia, has served as a tennis instructor and Head of Client Relations for P.D.L. Tennis in Haworth, teaching tennis skills and methods to children ages 9-17. In this role, Arlak also communicated with parents and children about the program, tournaments and college tennis, while also coordinating scheduling. Since 2004, Arlak has served as an instructor with Paum Tennis in Tenafly, teaching techniques to children ages 9-17 while developing the tennis games of U.S.T.A. tournament players.
'I have a great deal of respect for Coach Bucca and the Rutgers women's tennis program and am excited to be getting back into college tennis,' said Arlak. 'I really enjoyed my collegiate tennis career and am looking forward to working with a great group of student-athletes at Rutgers.'
A former standout at Brown, Arlak was an All-Ivy League Second Team performer in doubles in 2002, was named the team's Most Valuable Player in 2003 and earned the Most Improved Player award in 2004. Arlak was a nationally-ranked junior player who earned All-State and All-County honors at Leonia High School prior to her graduation in 2001.
"We are very fortunate to have a woman with Alex's talents join our program. She was a great player at Brown University, respected both by her teammates and the coaching staff,' said Bucca. 'She has a keen understanding of the game and will be a great asset to our program!!'
