Rutgers Drops BIG EAST Road Match at Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Rutgers women's soccer team went into half-time tied at zero with BIG EAST foe Louisville, but the Cardinals scored three times in the second half en route to a 3-0 victory.
Monique Gjini scored in the first five minutes of the second stanza to give Louisville a 1-0 lead. Gjini's second goal of the game came in the 83rd minute to finish off the scoring for the Cardinals, who improved to 9-3-1 and 4-2-0 in conference play. Rutgers fell to 6-6-2 and 1-3-2 in the BIG EAST. The Scarlet Knights were led by sophomore goalie Erin Guthrie (Sparta, N.J.), who had four saves in the loss.
RU's five-game road trip ends on Sunday, Oct. 14, at 1 p.m., when the Scarlet Knights face BIG EAST opponent Cincinnati. Rutgers' next home match is Friday, Oct. 19, at 7 p.m., against St. John's at Yurcak Field.
