Rutgers-Lafayette Game to be Televised Live on SNY

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The Rutgers University men's basketball game versus Lafayette at the Louis Brown Athletic Center at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 5, will be televised live on SportsNet New York (SNY). With the addition to the television schedule, the Scarlet Knights will now have at least 21 televised games in 2007-08.
Rutgers will appear on the ESPN family of networks nine times and will play 12 regionally televised contests under the direction of second-year head coach Fred Hill.
The Scarlet Knights will host North Carolina on Sunday, Dec. 16 at the Rutgers Athletic Center (RAC) in their first ESPN contest of the season. The Scarlet Knights' games at South Florida (Jan. 2/ESPN2), at DePaul (Jan. 19/ESPNU), versus Villanova (Jan. 23/ESPNU), at Pittsburgh (Jan. 26/ESPN Classic), against St. John's (Feb. 6/ESPN 360), versus Cincinnati (Feb. 9/ESPN Classic), at West Virginia (Feb. 14/ESPN or ESPN2) and against South Florida (Mar. 1/ESPN 360) will also air on ESPN outlets.
In addition to its national TV slate, RU will appear on the MSG Network four times, Fox Sports Net New York (FSNY) on three occasions and SNY five times. Contests on MSG are versus Georgetown (Jan. 5), against Louisville (Jan. 13), at Louisville (Feb. 2) and versus Connecticut (Feb. 26). Games on FSNY include at Providence (Jan. 9), against Seton Hall (Jan. 30) and versus Notre Dame (Feb. 17). Match-ups on SNY are Lafayette (Dec. 5), Manhattan (Dec. 29), at Syracuse (Jan. 16), at Marquette (Feb. 23) and the regular season finale at Seton Hall (Mar. 9).
Additions to the broadcast schedule may be announced at a later date.
The BIG EAST will feature an 18-game conference schedule after playing a 16-game slate for the last eight seasons. The 18-game format will have teams play each opponent once and three opponents twice. Rutgers will play Louisville, Seton Hall and South Florida twice in 2007-08.
