Big Ten Conference Announces 2026–27 Men’s Basketball Opponents

ROSEMONT, Ill. — The Big Ten Conference has announced Rutgers' conference opponents for the 2026–27 men's basketball season, completing the league's opponent matrix ahead of the upcoming 20-game schedule.
Rutgers will play three opponents twice as part of the Big Ten's double-play format, facing Maryland, Penn State and Purdue in home-and-away matchups during the conference season.
The Scarlet Knights will also play 14 single-play games, including seven at Jersey Mike's Arena and seven on the road. Rutgers' home-only opponents for the 2026–27 season are Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, UCLA, USC and Wisconsin.
On the road, Rutgers will face Indiana, Michigan State, Nebraska, Northwestern, Oregon, Ohio State and Washington.
The scheduling structure is designed to maintain competitive balance and ensure equitable rotation throughout the conference. Rutgers' home and away assignments reflect the league's multi-year model, which rotates opponents that were not previously hosted or visited during the 2025–26 season.
Additionally, as part of the Big Ten's integration of its West Coast programs, Rutgers will host UCLA and USC while traveling to Oregon and Washington during the 2026–27 campaign.
