Rutgers Wrestling Places Four In Nittany Lion Tournament

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - The Rutgers wrestling team placed four student-athletes in the Nittany Lion Tournament, Sunday in State College, Pa. Competing unattached, freshman Trevor Melde (Hewitt, N.J.) led the Scarlet Knights with a second-place finish at 141-pounds.
Redshirt sophomore David Greenwald (Union, N.J.) also placed at 141, finishing third. Junior Keith Dobish (Lodi, N.J.) took third at 184 and freshman Joey Langel (Howell, N.J.) finished sixth while competing unattached at 125.
Junior Kellen Bradley (Newton, N.J.) advanced to the quarterfinals at 149, as did senior Matt Pletcher (Eastampton, N.J.) at 165 and sophomore Chris Orzechowski (Old Bridge, N.J.) at 184. Competing unattached, freshman Dan Rinaldi (Lodi, N.J.) wrestled to the semifinals of the consolation bracket at 174, as did redshirt sophomore DJ Russo (Netcong, N.J.) in the heavyweight class.
Other Scarlet Knights competing in the tournament included sophomore Mike Demarco (Lyndhurst, N.J.) at 125, redshirt freshman Brian Bollette (Newton, N.J.) and sophomore Paul Grogan (Netcong, N.J.) at 133, freshmen Greg Zannetti (Edison, N.J.) and Scott Winston (Jackson, N.J.) at 157 and sophomore Mike Cucinotta (Gibbstown, N.J.) at 174.
A number of Scarlet Knights competed unattached besides Melde, Langel and Rinaldi, including freshman Ryan Roddy (Woodbridge, Conn.) at 174, sophomore McPaul Ogbonna (East Hanover, N.J.) at 184 and redshirt sophomore Sean DeDeyn (Bayville, N.J.) at heavyweight.
