Echenique to Undergo Surgery Today

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers sophomore center Gregory Echenique (Guatire, Venezuela) is undergoing eye surgery Wednesday to address a pre-existing condition. Echenique will be out for approximately one month.
Echenique has started all seven games this season and is averaging 12.6 points and 7.7 rebounds-per-game, while shooting 61 percent (28-46) from the field with 16 blocks. He was named to the BIG EAST Conference Honor Roll on Monday after averaging 20.0 points and 9.5 rebounds to help the Scarlet Knights to a 2-0 record last week.
