
Five Rutgers Softball Players Named NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Five Rutgers softball student-athletes have been named 2010 girls got game All-America Scholar-Athletes by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA).
Mickenzie Alden (Spokane, Wash.), Mandy Craig (Manassas, Va.), Nicole Lindley (Cicero, N.Y.), Kaci Madden (Saratoga, N.Y.) andDanielle Procopio (Vineland, N.J.) were all honored by the NFCA for acquiring a GPA of 3.5 or higher during the 2009-10 academic school year.
The NFCA accolades cap a stellar 2010 season that saw the Scarlet Knights reach their first BIG EAST Championship since 1998. Rutgers finished its season with the most wins overall (24) and best winning percentage (.444) since 2004 (25, .462). The Scarlet Knights’ nine conference wins was the most since 2002 (9).
