The Rutgers women's lacrosse team will participate in Friends of Jaclyn Week when the squad hosts Connecticut on Saturday, April 3 at 12 p.m. at the RU Turf Field. The team became involved with the organization last season after adopting little sister, Genna Camiolo, who suffers from pediatric brain tumors. Friends of Jaclyn is a charitable organization, dedicated to raising public awareness regarding pediatric brain tumors. Funds will be used to improve the quality of life for children who are afflicted with a brain tumor, as well as donating contributions to pediatric brain tumor research.
Genna will be recognized and serve as the honorary captain, as she did last season against Delaware. She will call out the coin toss and will also view the game from the sideline with the squad.
Donations will be accepted at the RU Turf Field with all proceeds going to support the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation. A silent auction will also be held, giving fans the opportunity to bid on a Rutgers lacrosse gift basket.
Members of the Scarlet Knights and coaching staff joined Genna and her family at the Race for Hope in Philadelphia this past November. The 5K Run/Walk is one of the country's largest fundraisers for the brain tumor community. Head coach Laura Brand-Sias and assistant coach Kelly Nangle also ran in the Philadelphia Half Marathon for the second time on November 22 on behalf of Genna.

Saturday's game against Connecticut also coincides with Rutgers Lacrosse Alumni Recognition Day for both the women's and men's programs. The 12 p.m. contest will serve as the front end of a RU lacrosse doubleheader with the men taking on St. John's at 3 p.m.
