Former Rutgers Wrestler Scott Wascavage Passes Away

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (May 24, 2010) - The Rutgers wrestling family would like to pass its condolences to the family of former RU grappler Scott M. Wascavage, who passed away on Thursday, May 20 after a two-year battle with cancer. Wascavage competed for the Scarlet Knights from 1996-98.

"On Thursday, May 20, 2010 of Fairfax, VA Scott M. Wascavage. He is survived by his wife Monica Lynn Wascavage; a son Tyson Joseph Wascavage; a daughter Alyssa Margo Wascavage; his parents Mark and Mary Wascavage; a brother Mark Wascavage and a sister Jill Mears. The family will receive friends at the FAIRFAX MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 9902 Braddock Road, Fairfax, VA 22032 on Tuesday, May 25 from 2 to 4 and 5:30 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday May 26, at St. Mary of Sorrows Catholic Church 5222 Sideburn Road, Fairfax, VA 22032 at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at St. Mary''s Historic Church Cemetery.
