Biruta Named to Cancun Challenge All-Tournament Team

CANCUN, MEXICO – Rutgers sophomore forward Gilvydas Biruta (Jonava, Lithuania) has been named to the 2011 Cancun Challenge Riviera Division All-Tournament Team. In the two contests played at the Moon Palace Resort, Biruta averaged 12.5 points and 5.5 rebounds.

Biruta had 11 points and seven rebounds versus Illinois State on Tuesday evening before posting 14 points and four rebounds against Richmond Wednesday night.

For the season, Biruta leads the Scarlet Knights in both scoring and rebounding, averaging 12.0 points and 7.2 rebounds-per-game, while shooting 51.9 percent (28-54).
