Rutgers Announces Men's Basketball Promotional Schedule

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (November 7, 2011) – The Rutgers University Division of Intercollegiate Athletics announced the promotional schedule for the 2011-12 men’s basketball season today. A multitude of promotions are in place for faculty, families, children and students.
There will be two Faculty/Staff Nights at the RAC, for the games versus Princeton (Dec. 7) and West Virginia (Jan. 4). Rutgers faculty and staff can purchase tickets at a special rate. Call the RU ticket office at 866-445-GORU (4678) for more details. The promotion is for advance purchases only.
“Family 4-Packs” are available for the contests against NJIT (Dec. 22) and DePaul (Jan. 25). Families can purchase four tickets, four hot dogs and four sodas at a discounted price of only $60.00. The promotion is for advance purchases only.
Promotions begin with the season opener versus Dartmouth (Nov. 11). Fans will receive a men’s basketball schedule poster, sponsored by STS, and magnet, sponsored by Rutgers School of Engineering, postgame while supplies last.
The November 20 game against Hampton will be Kids’ Day and a Rutgers Against Hunger Food Drive. Kids 12-and-under receive free admission with purchase of at least one adult ticket. A Rutgers Kids’ Zone opens at 10:30 with free amusements, games, temporary tattoos and more. Fans are also encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to help restock local food pantries.
The Rutgers Student Athlete Advisory Committee Toy Drive is scheduled for the Dec. 3 contest against LSU. Fans are invited to bring new, unwrapped books and toys for the area’s neediest children. Representatives from Rutgers SAAC will be on hand to collect donations.
The BIG EAST contest versus Cincinnati on January 28 is Youth Hoopsters’ Night, while also featuring a RAH Food Drive. Kids 12-and-under wearing their youth basketball jersey receive free admission with purchase of at least one adult ticket (maximum five kids per adult ticket).
Fan appreciation night will be observed for the regular season finale contest versus St. John’s on March 3.
