PISCATAWAY, N.J. (April 26, 2011) - Rutgers senior forward Jonathan Mitchell (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) was today named to the 2010-11 All-Met Men’s Basketball Second Team, as presented by the National Invitation Tournament and the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association. A two-time team captain who started all 64 games he played at Rutgers, he was among the BIG EAST leaders in scoring (14.4), free throw percentage (.786) and three point field goal percentage (.392) this past season.

He also provided one of the most dramatic plays in college basketball this season, completing a four-point play with 0.8 seconds remaining en route to a career-high 25 points in RU’s 77-76 upset victory over No. 9 Villanova on Feb. 9.
“J-Mitch” scored in double figures in 23 times in 2010-11 and had a pair of double-doubles. He had a career-best 25 points in RU’s two “biggest” victories, the win over the Wildcats and the 76-70 overtime victory against Seton Hall in the BIG EAST Championship on March 8.
