RU Softball Takes Part in Friends of Jaclyn
Dec 21 | Softball
PISCATAWAY, N.J. (December 21, 2012) The Rutgers softball program adopted Jada, an eight-year-old fighting a pediatric brain tumor, as a part of their team. RU and Jada came together through Friends of Jaclyn, a charitable organization dedicated to raising public awareness regarding pediatric brain tumors.
"It is such a joy for our program to share in the life of this young girl," said head coach Jay Nelson.
On Tuesday, Dec. 18, Jada was joined by her mother Jasmyn Carter and her sister in a team gathering to welcome Jada to the RU softball family. Jada's family and the Scarlet Knight team spent a couple of hours getting to know each other and exchanging presents for the holiday season.
