Dane Miller Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (December 31, 2012) - Rutgers senior wing Dane Miller (Rochester, N.Y.) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday. He shot 5-of-9 from the field and 8-of-9 from the free throw line to score 18 points with five assists, four rebounds and two blocks in helping Rutgers (9-2) to a 68-56 win over Rider on Friday.
The win over the Broncs marked the fifth straight victory for the Scarlet Knights, who enter BIG EAST play at No. 7/9 Syracuse Wednesday (Jan. 2) night having won nine of their past 10 games.
A team tri-captain, Miller ranks 11th in the BIG EAST in field goal percentage (.545).He has scored in double figures in five of the past six games. His eight free throws and nine free throw attempts against Rider both marked career-highs for Miller, who has scored 937 career points.
Miller is the third RU player cited on the league honor roll this season, joining sophomore St. Anthony High School products Myles Mack (Dec. 17) and Eli Carter (Nov. 26).
