
Dane Miller Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (March 4, 2012) - Rutgers junior wing Dane Miller (Rochester, N.Y.) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Sunday after averaging 13.0 points and 9.5 rebounds while shooting 71.4 percent (10-14) and 85.7 percent from the free throw line (6-7) to help the Scarlet Knights to a 1-1 record this past week. In the 61-58 win over St. John’s Saturday night, he posted his seventh double-double of the season with 10 points and 10 rebounds and had a highlight reel put back slam dunk with 11.2 seconds remaining that proved the decisive basket.
Versus Villanova on Thursday night, Miller had 16 points and nine rebounds, while shooting 5-of-8 from the field and 6-of-6 from the free throw line.
In the last four games of the regular season, Miller averaged 14.3 points and 8.8 rebounds-per-contest, while shooting 57.5 percent (23-40) from the field and 81.8 percent (9-11) from the free throw line.
Miller ranks fourth in the BIG EAST in blocks (1.65), 11th in field goal percentage (.505) and 14th in rebounds (6.7).
