
Jack Named American Athletic Conference Player of the Week

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (November 11, 2013) - Rutgers University forward Kadeem Jack (Queens, N.Y.) has been named the American Athletic Conference Player of the Week, becoming the first player to win the new league's weekly award. The redshirt junior shot 12-of-18 to score a career-high 30 points and grabbed 12 rebounds (eight offensive) to help Rutgers to a season-opening 92-84 win over Florida A&M this past Friday night (Nov. 8) at the RAC.
It marked the second career double-double for Jack, whose previous career-high scoring total was 15 points. He had three slam dunks and was 6-of-7 from the free throw line against the Rattlers.
Rutgers meets Conference USA foe Alabama-Birmingham in an 8 p.m. ET (7 p.m. local) tip-off tonight at 8,508-seat Bartow Arena. The game will be televised live on SNY and Comcast Sports South.
The Scarlet Knights next home contest is Thursday, Nov. 14 versus Yale at 7:30 p.m. Prior to the game, from 6:15-7:15 p.m., Rutgers soccer greats Alexi Lalas and Carli Lloyd will be signing autographs. A member of the United States Men's National Team between 1991 and 1998, Lalas is the only player in the history of the soccer program to earn three All-America honors and was the 1991 National Player of the Year. An Olympic gold medalist and member of the United States Women's National Team since 2005, Lloyd is the only Scarlet Knight to earn First-Team All-Big East Honors four times (2001-2004).
