BIG EAST Names Howard to Weekly Honor Roll

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (April 22, 2013) - The BIG EAST named Rutgers softball sophomore Chandler Howard (Wilmington, Del.) to its Weekly Honor Roll, the conference announced Monday. Howard went 5-10 (.500) with three doubles, five RBIs and a run scored in a 2-1 week for the Scarlet Knights (25-19, 6-8), extending her hitting streak to 14 games.
Howard has reached base in 23-straight games dating back to March 20. The sophomore recorded a pair of two-hit games for RU last week, and also notched her second three-RBI effort of the season in a 7-1 victory over Stony Brook. She leads RU with 30 RBIs and 11 doubles this season.
RU is back in action on Wednesday, April 22, for a home series against BIG EAST opponent Syracuse. The doubleheader is scheduled for 1 and 3 p.m. at the RU Softball Complex.
