Rutgers Hoops Hosts Baruch College Saturday in Exhibition

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers Men's Basketball hosts Baruch College in an exhibition game this Saturday (Nov. 8) at 2 p.m. at the RAC. Admission and parking is free for the contest, which provides fans their initial opportunity to see the 2014-15 Scarlet Knights in action under second-year head coach Eddie Jordan.
The match-up will be streamed live via the web on BTN Plus at http://www.btn2go.com/game/baruch-college-at-rutgers--on-20141108. Danny Breslauer will call the action and former RU letterwinner Austin Johnson will provide the commentary.
Rutgers returns six scholarship letterwinners, including three starters, from last season's team as it enters its inaugural Big Ten Conference campaign. In the preseason Pomeroy College Basketball Ratings, the Scarlet Knights are 103rd among the 351 programs competing on the Division I hardwood.

The Bearcats return four starters and ten letterwinners from last year's team that posted a 14-12 overall record and placed third in the CUNY Athletic Conference under head coach John Alesi.
After welcoming Baruch, the Scarlet Knights will host 16 regular season games, including nine Big Ten foes and three teams that advanced to the 2014 NCAA Championship Elite Eight. In Big Ten action, RU will host recent Elite Eight participants Wisconsin (Jan. 11), Michigan (Jan. 20) and Michigan State (Jan. 27), as well as NCAA Tournament mainstay Ohio State (Feb. 8). Five-time NCAA champion Indiana (Feb. 22) will visit the RAC this winter, as well as regional rivals Penn State (Jan. 24) and Maryland (March 3). Northwestern (Dec. 30) and Purdue (Feb. 12) will also take to the hardwood in Piscataway.
Rutgers opens its regular season by welcoming NCAA Tournament participant George Washington on Nov. 16. November also features Fairleigh Dickinson (Nov. 19), as well as games versus St. Francis, N.Y. (Nov. 23) and St. Peter's (Nov. 25) as part of the Barclays Center Classic. In the month of December, RU hosts New Hampshire (Dec. 9), St. Francis, Pa. (Dec. 20) and Sacred Heart (Dec. 23).
