PISCATAWAY, N.J. (February 10, 2014) – Rutgers University redshirt junior forward Kadeem Jack (Queens, N.Y.) has been named to the American Athletic Conference Honor Roll. Jack averaged 21.5 points and 6.0 rebounds last week, while shooting 56 percent (14-of-25) from the field and 88.2 percent (15-of-17) from the free throw line.
Jack shot 9-of-14 and a perfect 13-of-13 from the free throw line to score a career-high 31 points in a 79-69 win at USF on Saturday night. His performance from the free throw line tied for the third best in RU history and was the best since John Somogyi also went 13-for-13 vs. Navy (March 1, 1972). On Tuesday at No. 24 Memphis, he scored 12 points and grabbed six rebounds.
Jack ranks seventh in AAC in rebounding (6.9), eighth in field goal percentage (.514), ninth in blocks (1.3) and 12th in scoring (14.3).
It marks the third conference honor for Jack this season. On Nov. 11, he was named the AAC Player of the Week, becoming the first player to win the new league’s weekly award. He was cited on the Honor Roll Jan. 6.
