Mar 13 | Baseball
PISCATAWAY, N.J. (March 12, 2014) - Rutgers baseball has moved its home game April 8 against Fordham to FirstEnergy Park in Lakewood, N.J., home of the Lakewood BlueClaws. Admission is free and the gates will open at 5:30 p.m. with first pitch scheduled for 6:05 p.m.
"This is a great opportunity for us to play in a professional ballpark," head coach Joe Litterio said. "The 6:05 p.m. game time gives our alumni a chance to come out and see us play. We are looking forward to it."
"We always like to open the park for our fans prior to the first BlueClaws game, but with the team opening on the road this year, this was a natural replacement," BlueClaws General Manager Brandon Marano said. "We're looking forward to providing a night out for our fans and having a great game before the BlueClaws' home-season begins."
FirstEnergy Park, a state-of-the-art facility, opened in 2001 when the BlueClaws came to Lakewood. The park features 6,588 reserve seats, 20 luxury suites, two party decks, three picnic areas, and a full video scoreboard, with a 23' x 23' video board that can play over 4.4 trillion shades of color in high definition.
Concession stands will be open for the game.
