PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers (10-17, 2-12) returns home to host Indiana (18-9, 8-6) in a 5:15 p.m. tip-off on Sunday at the RAC. RU is seeking a return to the win column, while the Hoosiers are looking to bounce back from their first conference home loss. Indiana, which has been ranked as high as No. 22/21 this season, is receiving votes in both polls. The Scarlet Knights' schedule is currently rated No. 17 nationally in the ESPN Daily RPI. Indiana is currently No. 35 overall in the NCAA RPI.
Sunday's game is sold out to the general public, but student tickets are still available by clicking here. It has been designated as a "White Out," and offers many exciting promotions. Jason and Devin McCourty will sign autographs for an hour prior to tip-off. The twin brothers were football standouts "On the Banks" and are both currently starting defensive backs in the NFL. Devin just won a Super Bowl with the New England Patriots, while Jason plays for the Tennessee Titans. Both were selected this season as their respective team's winner of the Walter Payton Man of the Year. The brothers will host a Tackle Sickle Cell Casino Night at Brother Jimmy's in New Brunswick the night of Feb. 21.
Sunday will also feature post game foul shots on the court for Junior Knights Club members ages 12 and under. Children who are not members of the Junior Knights will have the opportunity to sign up and participate.
The game will be televised live nationally on BTN with Cory Provus calling the action and Stephen Bardo providing the analysis. On the radio, the contest will be broadcast live on the Rutgers IMG Sports Network, WOR 710 AM in New York and WCTC 1450 AM in New Brunswick, as well as on Sirius and XM channel 84. Chris Carlin will serve as play-by-play announcer and Dick Lloyd will provide commentary. WRSU (88.7 FM) will also broadcast the game.
The contest will mark the third meeting on the collegiate hardwood between RU and IU, with the Hoosiers winning both prior match-ups, including a 72-64 victory at Assembly Hall on Jan. 31. Myles Mack shot 7-of-13, including 4-of-7 from behind the arc, to score 24 points with eight assists in the hard-fought defeat. The first meeting occurred on Dec. 27, 1980 at the Rainbow Classic in Honolulu, Hawaii. Clarence Tillman had 15 points and Kelvin Troy contributed 13 in the 55-50 loss to then No. 15 Indiana.
In its first trip to Carver-Hawkeye Arena on Thursday, Rutgers dropped an 81-47 decision to Iowa. Freshman forward D.J. Foreman set career highs with 10 points and eight rebounds, while playing a team-high 26 minutes. Mack led the Scarlet Knights in the scoring column with 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting, including a 3-of-5 mark from behind the arc.
Indiana, under the leadership of seventh-year head coach Tom Crean, suffered a 67-63 loss to Purdue on Thursday. The Boilermakers established a 14-4 advantage in second chance points and a 17-2 buffer in bench points to capture the win in a game that featured 10 ties and 11 lead changes. Yogi Ferrell scored 21 points to lead four Hoosiers in double figures. Ferrell and James Blackmon lead the team in the scoring column with 16.1 points-per-game. The Hoosiers rank fourth nationally in three-point field goal percentage (41.4).
