Softball Joins "Go Gold" Campaign
Sep 22 | Softball
PISCATAWAY, N.J. (Sept. 22, 2015) - For the month of September, Rutgers softball has gone gold in support of Childhood Cancer Awareness month. RU dedicates the awareness to the Scarlet Knights' little sister, JaDa, who is battling a pediatric brain tumor.
RU and JaDa came together through "Friends of Jaclyn," a charitable organization dedicated to raising public awareness regarding pediatric brain tumors. JaDa and the Scarlet Knights have remained close since she joined the Rutgers softball family in December of 2012.
"JaDa reminds us all to value what is right in front of us," said senior Jordan Whitley. "She is our little sister, full of life, energy and a passion for fun despite everything she goes up against each day. It inspires us to go hard for every child that may not get the opportunity we have been given."
