"It is great to see these three continue to NCAA Regionals after successful seasons," head coach Louis Levine said. "They have worked hard all year and it will be exciting to compete once again in a push to make Nationals. We look forward to preparing in the gym the next two weeks."
Amoresano competed 10 times on vault as a rookie, never scoring lower than a 9.725 to earn a 9.785 regional qualifying score (RQS). She reached her season-high mark at home on Feb. 20 at 9.825. In addition, the freshman put up a 9.750 at the Big Ten Championships last week.
Groden qualifies to NCAA Regionals as an individual for the second time in as many seasons. She increased her RQS to 38.990 as a sophomore with four meets scoring at least 39.000. The all-arounder attained her career high in consecutive meets in February at 39.050. Groden had a personal-high RQS on floor exercise at 9.785 with a season best of 9.800 four times. She also had season bests of 9.850 on vault, 9.850 on balance beam and 9.825 on vault, as the gymnast is coming off a 38.950 all-around score last week at the Big Ten Championships. In 2015, Groden recorded a 38.850 at the Morgantown Regional with a high of 9.800 on balance beam.
Wilson will appear at NCAA Regionals for the second time, but it will be her first trip as an individual. The senior led the Scarlet Knights with a 9.815 RQS on vault, seeing action in all 12 meets. She reached 9.800 eight times throughout the season, including a career-high 9.990 to help Rutgers win its first Big Ten meet at Maryland. Wilson totaled a 9.750 last week at the Big Ten Championships and put up a 9.725 in the 2014 Athens Regional as part of the team appearance.
It is the second consecutive season that the Scarlet Knights will send three gymnasts to NCAA Regionals. Click here for the full release from the NCAA.
