EVANSTON, Ill. - Rutgers women's lacrosse dropped its final road game of the year, 20-9, Sunday afternoon at Lanny and Sharon Martin Stadium against No. 12 Northwestern. Senior attacker Kim Kolodny (Farmingdale, N.J.) led the charge offensively with a hat trick and three assists, as the Wildcats' Mallory Weisse made nine saves in cage to limit the Scarlet Knights attack.
Junior attacker Amanda Turturro (Farmingdale, N.Y.) also notched a hat trick Sunday, while senior Halley Barnes (Garnet Valley, Pa.), junior Kristina Dunphey (Hillsborough, N.J.) and freshman Abbey Brooks (Moorestown, N.J.) scored a goal for RU.
For the Wildcats, Kaleigh Craig scored a game-high six goals. Shelby Fredericks posted a game-high four assists. RU ended the game on a 5-1 run, but could overcome Northwestern's early advantage in the defeat.
Kolodny's second assist and fifth point of the game late in the second half was the 100th point of her Rutgers career. The Farmingdale HS product has a career-high 37 points this season (26g, 11a) and is the 20th Scarlet Knight in program history to reach the century mark in points.
The Scarlet Knights return to High Point Solutions Stadium for their final two games of the regular season. RU hosts No. 15/8 Ohio State (11-2, 2-1) on Thursday, April 21 at 7 p.m. live on Big Ten Network. Brand and Co. then close the season on Saturday, April 30 against Michigan at noon.
