ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Representing Rutgers gymnastics, sophomore Libby Groden (Abbottstown, Pa.) scored a 39.025 all-around at the Ann Arbor Regional held Saturday inside Crisler Center. Freshman Michelle Amoresano (Whippany, N.J.) and senior Nicolette Wilson (Toms River, N.J.) also competed as vault specialists.
"I thought we had a great meet," said fifth-year head coach Louis Levine, who has sent gymnasts to NCAA Regionals each season. "I'm very proud of the girls. Everyone hit their routines."
Appearing at NCAAs for the second-straight year, Groden increased her all-around score from 38.850 in 2015. She has now topped the 39-mark five times in the last nine outings. She performed best on uneven bars with a 9.800, while notching a 9.725 on both balance beam and floor exercise. Groden added a 9.725 on vault.
Wilson capped her career as a Scarlet Knight with a 9.725 run, reaching at least that score in 13 of 14 attempts as a senior. Amoresano recorded a 9.550 to close out her rookie season.
