Jul 22 | Women's Gymnastics
PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Eight members of the Rutgers gymnastics program earned a spot on the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches for Women Scholastic All-America team. To be recognized for this honor, student-athletes must carry a grade-point average of 3.50 or better.
Sophomore Elizabeth Nand led the way by posting a perfect 4.0 GPA as a genetics major, previously earning a spot on the Big Ten Distinguished Scholars list. Seniors Nicolette Wilson, Katie Stebick, junior Charly Santagado and sophomore Libby Groden also collected both honors.
In addition, fifth-year Emma Hoffman, senior Claudia Salinas and freshman Eriel Santagado all recorded a GPA higher than 3.60 to earn NACGC/W Scholastic All-America status.
This continues the success in the classroom for Rutgers gymnastics, as the program earned a perfect single-year APR score of 1,000 in the latest NCAA report. The APR is an annual scorecard of academic achievement calculated for all Division I sports teams nationally. The APR measures eligibility, graduation and retention each term and provides a clear picture of the academic performance for each team in every sport.
