Softball Unveils 2018 Spring Schedule

Campaign includes six road tournaments, four midweek nonconference matchups and eight Big Ten series
PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The Rutgers softball team has unveiled its schedule for the 2018 season. The 56-game campaign includes six road tournaments, four midweek nonconference matchups and eight Big Ten series.
The 2018 slate consists of seven 2017 NCAA Qualifiers, highlighted by Oregon, which advanced to the Women's College World Series Semifinals. Additionally, RU will cross paths with three Big Ten foes that reached NCAAs, including Michigan, Ohio State, and Wisconsin.
RU will open the year with 33 consecutive games on the road, beginning with a tournament at California State Fullerton (Feb. 9-11). Up next, Rutgers is off to Mexico for the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge (Feb. 15-17) to face SEC Champions Ole Miss, Oregon, Texas and Houston.
The schedule continues with tournaments at Kennesaw State (Feb. 23-25), Hampton (Mar. 2-4), Florida Atlantic (Mar. 10-11) and Mercer (Mar. 16-18).
Big Ten Conference action kicks off on the road at Wisconsin (Mar. 23-25) before RU moves into a seven-game home stretch beginning with Penn State (Mar. 30-Apr. 1). The Scarlet Knights also are set for Big Ten home series with Ohio State (Apr. 6-8), Northwestern (Apr. 20-22) and Indiana (May 4-6).
The remaining road league series include Michigan (Apr. 14-16), Maryland (April 17), and Michigan State (Apr. 27-29).
The 2018 Big Ten Softball Tournament will be hosted by Wisconsin from Thursday, May 10 to Saturday, May 12.
