COLUMBUS, Ohio – For the ninth consecutive outing and a program-record 10
th time this season, Rutgers women's soccer (9-1-5, 5-0-3) went to overtime, this time drawing with Ohio State (7-5-3, 4-2-3) 0-0 Friday night in Columbus.
The Scarlet Knights outshot their opponent, 20-8, and had five shots combined in both overtime periods, but were unable to convert for the golden goal. Freshman
Meagan McClelland picked up her sixth shutout of the season and fourth in league play to keep RU unbeaten in conference action.

Sophomore
Amirah Ali led the squad with six shots, while senior
Madison Pogarch produced two shots on goal to lead the squad.
Defensively, RU allowed just six shots during regulation, while McClelland notched three saves in 110:00 minutes of action.
THE MATCH
The theatrics came in the overtime, as Rutgers' offense generated plenty of scoring opportunities in the final 20 minutes of action. The Scarlet Knights produced three shots in the first overtime period, with
Nneka Moneme's strike in the 96
th minute proving to be RU's best chance.
The sophomore struck from 10 yards out, with her attempt going just wide left of the cage.
Tiernny Wiltshire's headshot two minutes later went wide right, while
Taylor Aylmer's attempt towards the end of the period also just missed the back of the cage.
OSU's Sarah Roberts responded with an attempt in the final minute, but a nice diving save by McClelland resulted in 10 more minutes on the clock.
In the second overtime, Ali and Aylmer each had good attempts, but both shots went just over the cage.
Rutgers and Ohio State entered overtime after a scoreless second half in which the Scarlet Knights outshot the Buckeyes, 9-4. The Scarlet Knights also outshot their opponent, 6-2, in the opening 45 minutes of play.
UP NEXT
Rutgers remains on the road as it travels to Penn State on Sunday, Oct. 14 for a match on Big Ten Network. The contest is scheduled for a 3 p.m. start.

- RU has played in nine straight overtime contests, marking the longest stretch of extra time games in program history. RU holds a record of 5-0-4 in those contests and is 5-0-5 overall in overtime matches this year.
- A total of 10 games this year have gone past regulation, setting a program record for RU. In 2017, the Scarlet Knights played in nine overtime contests.
