  • Senior outside hitter Sahbria McLetchie (14 kills, 11 digs) and freshman outside hitter Tali Marmen (11 kills, 11 digs) joined Balyko in the double-double department.
THE MOMENTS
  • Set 1 | Rutgers opened the match on the attack, with standup defense to go with it. Weidt blocked two Buckeye attacks as the Scarlet Knights scored the first six points of the match. With an intense tone set, Rutgers used efficient hitting (.312) to comfortably close out the opener.
  • Set 1 | Weidt stamped the set win just as she began. Combining on a block with Marmen, Rutgers had set-point at 24-17 before Weidt's exclamation point – a kill off the block and a 1-0 lead.
  • Set 3 | Marmen bounced a kill and immediately followed it up with an ace serve capping a 3-0 rally to tie the period at 13-13.
  • Set 3 | McLetchie made her mark down the stretch with a kill to create set-point at 24-23, followed by assisting on a block with junior middle Jasmine Stackhouse to clinch the 2-1 lead.
  • Set 4 | Weidt was again in the middle of an important run, a 4-1 spurt that gave Rutgers an 8-6 edge with two kills and a block. Ohio State scored five of the final six points to force the fifth and final set.
