Rutgers Rallies to Five in Solid Match

New Brunswick, N.J. (Nov. 14, 2018) - For the third time this year, the Scarlet Knights rallied their way to a fifth set, ultimately dropping a Big Ten match at the College Ave. Gym on Tuesday evening.

STANDOUT STATS
- Junior Jasmine Stackhouse led the night in blocks and points with 4 solo blocks, 8 block assists, and 16 points.
- Leading the Scarlet Knights in assists was freshman setter Inna Balyko with 41 over five sets.
- Freshman Tali Marmen and senior Sahbria McLetchie were killing it on the court with hitting double digits, each had 12 and 10 kills respectively.
- Stackhouse joins former Scarlet Knights on the All Time Top 10 list for blocks, ending todays match with 286 blocks in her career.
- Yet again, junior Karysa Swackenberg hit double digits in the dig category which brings her up to 42 in her career that she has accomplished this.
- In their last meeting, the Spartans and the Scarlet Knights rallied through four sets before a final score was declared.
- Set 1 | Rutgers kept pace with the Spartans until the last serve with seven lead changes and tying the score a total of 12 times.
- Set 2 | A tough second set had the Scarlet Knights fighting for every point. Unable to take the lead, Balyko hit seven of her assists to help the team to their 14 points.
- Set 3 | The Scarlet Knights let the Spartans get an early lead, but once they scored their sixth point of the set, Rutgers couldn't be stopped.
- Set 4 | Continuing their streak from the fourth set, Rutgers waited until their 10th point to pull ahead and take the set by storm.
- Set 5 | In an exciting final set, there were six tied scores and four lead changes keeping both teams on their toes until an attack error cemented the Spartan win.
