PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Rutgers women's cross country team races at the 2018 NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional on Friday hosted by Penn State. Action in the 6K race at the Blue-White Golf Course gets underway at noon.
ABOUT THE RACE
The Scarlet Knights will be competing against teams from American, Bucknell, Delaware, Duquesne, George Washington, Georgetown, La Salle, Lafayette, Lehigh, Loyola (Md.), Marshall, Maryland, Maryland-Eastern Shore, Monmouth, Mount St. Mary's, Navy, New Jersey Institute, Penn, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Princeton, Rider, Rutgers, Saint Francis University, Seton Hall, St. Joseph's (Pa.), Temple, Towson, UMBC, Villanova, and West Virginia.

Rutgers checks in at No. 11 in the USTFCCCA Mid-Atlantic Regional Poll for the second-straight poll. It is the Scarlet Knights' highest regional ranking since the start of the 2015 season. Click here to view the complete poll.

Friday will be the second time the Scarlet Knights have competed at the Blue-White Golf Course this season.
Rutgers took part in the Penn State National Open back on Oct. 12 running against seven teams either ranked or receiving votes in the USTFCCCA Poll.
Sophomore Olympia Martin led all Scarlet Knight runners with a 6K time of 21:36, clocking in five seconds off her PR. Junior Nadia Saponara was also just shy of a personal best registering a time of 22:18.
LAST TIME OUT
Sophomore Olympia Martin led the Scarlet Knight pack, while junior Lou Mialhe and sophomore Kaitlyn Bragen both picked up new personal bests at the 2018 Big Ten Women's Cross Country Championships on Sunday hosted by the University of Nebraska.
Martin led all Rutgers harriers for the fifth-straight race this season. The Ridgewood, New Jersey product was the top RU runner over the finish line, clocking in at 21:47.4.
Mialhe, who earned the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award, posted her third-straight PR as the second Rutgers harrier to finish. The Princeton, New Jersey native finished in 22:12.7, taking four seconds off her previous best set the Penn State National Open two weeks ago.
Bragen also posted a new top time with a finish of 22:38.1, her best finish since her first appearance as a Scarlet Knight at the 2017 opener at the Lehigh Invitational with a time of 23:01.71.
