PISCATAWAY – Women's golf begins its spring season Monday and Tuesday, February 19-20, at the Moon Invitational, hosted by No. 23-ranked Louisville, in Melbourne, Fla. Thirteen colleges are competing in the three-round event, with 36 holes scheduled for day one and 18 on day two.
The Scarlet Knights and host Cardinals are joined by No. 8 Furman, Michigan, Maryland, Southern Mississippi, Memphis, Augusta, Virginia Tech, USF, Chattanooga, Kennesaw State, and Old Dominion. This the first time in program history that RU will compete in the Moon Invitational. Rutgers is paired with Southern Miss and Augusta in the opening round.
The Invitational will be played at the par 72, 6,309-yard Duran Golf Club, which has been voted on of the nation's top 50 public courses. The Duran Golf Club was laid out on land that was once a fertile sod farm. That soil foundation lends itself to producing some of the plushest playing surfaces on Florida's East Coast.
The travel team for the first event of the spring season includes co-captains senior Emily Mills and junior Ashleigh Greenham, senior Tatum Jackson, and freshmen Harriet Allsebrook and Lori Char.
Tee times for Monday start at 8:30 a.m. and Tuesday at 8:45 a.m. Results will be posted on Golfstat.com and available here at the conclusion of competition each day.
