2018-19 Big Ten Men’s Basketball Opponents Announced
Apr 19 | Men's Basketball
PISCATAWAY - Rutgers men's basketball will have home-and-home match-ups with Indiana, Iowa, Michigan State, Minnesota, Northwestern, Ohio State and Penn State during its 20-game Big Ten Conference schedule in 2018-19. The Scarlet Knights will also welcome Maryland, Michigan and Nebraska to the RAC next season.
On the road in Big Ten play in 2018-19, Rutgers will travel to Illinois, Purdue and Wisconsin.
Fans will have the opportunity to watch 10 Big Ten Conference foes compete upon the RAC hardwood courtesy of the league's expanded, regular-season schedule. National finalist Michigan, NCAA participants Michigan State and Ohio State, as well as NIT champion Penn State, all visit Piscataway next year.
Dates and times for next season's Big Ten men's basketball slate, as well as the entire 2018-19 schedule, will be announced at a later date.
Rutgers men's basketball season ticket renewals, as well as new season tickets sales, will begin in May.
Under second-year head coach Steve Pikiell this past season, the Scarlet Knights advanced to the Big Ten Tournament quarterfinals at Madison Square Garden via victories over Minnesota and five-time national champion Indiana. It marked the first time RU won two conference tournament games since 1998. Rutgers ranked among the top three in the Big Ten in eight statistical categories, including leading the league in offensive rebounding and 3-point FG% defense. While playing the second-toughest conference schedule in the Big Ten per Ken Pom analysis, RU also played 10 games against programs that advanced to the round of 32 in the NCAA Tournament.
