Men's T/F Opens Weekend at the Larry Ellis Invitational and Virginia Challenge

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers opened its weekend with Scarlet Knights appearing at both the Larry Ellis Invitational hosted by Princeton and the Virginia Challenge hosted by UVA.
VIRGINIA CHALLENGE
In the triple jump, freshman Malachi Davis recorded a personal-best leap of 15.35m (50" 4.5") en route to claiming the title in the event to open the day for RU.
Sophomore Tobi Tella finished third in the triple jump invite event, leaping to a mark of 15.23m (49' 11.75"). Junior Jairus Paul followed with a mark of 15.00m (49' 2.5").
In the 400m, junior Izaiah Brown registered a time of 47.26 to finish fourth followed by senior Jermaine Griffith with a time of 47.51 in sixth. Additionally, junior Zo Aris clocked a time of 11.29 in the 100m
Graduate student Rudy Winkler remained consistent in the hammer throw, producing a throw of 70.41m (230' 1") to finish fourth in the event.
LARRY ELLIS INVITATIONAL
Sophomores Jason Schweizer and Cole Pschunder represented Rutgers on a light first day in Princeton. Schweizer posted a time of 1:56.43 in the 800m, while Pschunder recorded a time of 3:58.45 in the 1500m.
