Women’s Soccer Kicks Off Big Ten Action with Nebraska, Iowa

Scarlet Knights home conference opener set for Friday, Sept. 14 with the Cornhuskers
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers women's soccer kicks off Big Ten Conference action with two home games this weekend, starting with Nebraska on Friday, Sept. 14 at 5 p.m. ET. The Scarlet Knights then welcome Iowa to Yurcak Field on Sunday, Sept. 16 at 1 p.m.
LACE UP 4 PEDIATRIC CANCER
Rutgers women's soccer teamed up with Go4theGoal and the Lace Up 4 Pediatric Cancer campaign. Go4theGoal's mission is to improve the lives of children battling cancer by providing financial support, developing and implementing unique hospital programs, funding innovative research, and granting personal wishes.
On Friday night, the Scarlet Knights will sport yellow shoe laces to support the cause. For more information and to donate, please visit Go4TheGoal.org.
The night will also feature a Big Ten opening doubleheader for Rutgers soccer with the men's team hosting Michigan following the women's match.

RUTGERS QUICK KICKS
- Rutgers (4-1-2) wrapped up conference play with a 2-1 loss to Monmouth and a 2-2 draw with La Salle.
- Amirah Ali leads the Scarlet Knights with five goals on the season, ranking second in the Big Ten in total goals.
- Nicole Whitley leads the Big Ten and is eighth in the nation with five assists.
- In net, freshman goalkeeper Meagan McClelland maintains a 0.81 GA with 15 saves and three shutouts.
- Nebraska (4-3-1) split a pair of ranked contests last weekend, including a 3-1 loss at No. 14 Duke and a 2-1 win at No. 13 NC State.
- Savannah Uveges leads the Huskers with three goals and three assists on the season.
- In net, Aubrei Corder has seen the most action and maintains a 1.76 GAA with 17 saves and one shutout.
- The series between the Scarlet Knights and Huskers began in 2014, as the teams have tied in all three meetings. Last season, the match ended as a 1-1 draw in Lincoln.
- Iowa (4-2-1) dropped two road matches last weekend, falling to Iowa State (2-1) and Wyoming (1-0).
- Natalie Winters paces the Hawkeyes with three goals on the season.
- Claire Graves has seen the most time in net, maintaining a 0.19 GAA with 19 saves and four shutouts.
- The Hawkeyes hold a 3-2 edge in the all-time series. Last season, Iowa collected a 1-0 win over Rutgers in Iowa City.
