Women's Cross Country Travels To Greeno/Dirksen Invite

Scarlet Knights Race at 10 a.m. (ET) in Lincoln, Nebraska on Saturday
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Rutgers women's cross country team makes the long haul out to Lincoln, Nebraska this weekend for the 29th annual Greeno/Dirksen Invitational hosted by the University of Nebraska at the Mahoney Golf Course.
The Scarlet Knights, who kick off the 6K race at 10 a.m. (ET), will get an early taste of the upcoming Big Ten Championship course.
LAST TIME OUT:
Rutgers had a solid opening to the season two weeks ago at the Monmouth Kickoff.
With the 4K race divided between the under and upperclassmen, the first and second-year Scarlet Knights captured the Freshman/Sophomore team title. Three RU harriers placed in the top 10 led by a first place performance by sophomore Olympia Martin (14:47.7) and runner-up, sophomore Kiera Nealon (14:48.5). Fellow classmate Kaitlyn Bragen rounded out the Scarlet Knights in the top ten taking seventh overall (15:01.02).
The juniors and seniors, meanwhile, combined to take third in their race and were paced by junior Nadia Saponara, who placed fourth (14:40.5). Other upperclassmen in the top 10 were juniors Lou Mialhe (14:58.2) and Emma Bergman (14:59.8).

The Scarlet Knights will travel to the annual Paul Short Invitational. The 6K race takes place on Saturday, Sept. 29 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
