Five Things to Know2. Registration is now open for the 2018 Hall of Fame Dinner & Varsity R Homecoming Tailgate. The dinner will be held Friday evening, October 19, with the tailgate at the football game October 20 versus Northwestern at noon.
3. Men's and women's basketball will host MidKnight Madness on Friday, Oct. 12, at the historic College Avenue Gymnasium ("The Barn") in New Brunswick.
5. Rutgers will host RU Brewfest on Saturday, September 29 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. prior to the home football game against Indiana. Tickets to the festival, including access to the game, are $50.
Football
• Hosts Buffalo at noon at Saturday (Big Ten Network).
• Chris Ash Radio Show returns to Quaker Steak and Lube Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
• Game Week Pressers: Chris Ash, John McNulty, Jay Niemann
• The second episode of the Chris Ash Show was released.
• Game against Indiana on September 29 scheduled for noon on BTN.
No. 17 Field Hockey (6-1, 0-1)
• Dropped first Big Ten game of the season at defending Big Ten champion No. 10 Michigan, 3-1 on Friday. Followed that up with a 5-0 win over Longwood on Sunday.
• Last week, Gianna Glatz was named NFHCA Weekly Honorable Mention.
• The team's defense ranks among the top of the nation in goals against and shutouts.
• Will host an Alumni Weekend from Sept. 21-23.
• Host two Big Ten teams in Michigan State, Friday (7 p.m., BTN Plus) and No. 23 Ohio State Sunday (1 p.m, Big Ten Network).
Women's Soccer (5-1-3, 1-0-1)
• Begins a three-game Big Ten road swing, starting with Maryland on Sunday, Sept. 23 (2 p.m., BTN Plus)
• With 11 seconds left in overtime, junior midfielder Nicole Whitley made an incredible play to set up sophomore Amirah Ali's game winner against Iowa in a 2-1 win. (Highlights)
• Tied with Nebraska, 1-1, in Big Ten opener. (Highlights)
• Whitley leads the Big Ten and is tied for 10th in the nation in total assists (6), while Ali is tied for first in the conference in total goals (6).
Men's Soccer (1-4-1, 0-1-0)
• Closes out a four-game homestand with Marist (BTN Plus) on Tuesday at 7 p.m. and travels to No. 4 Michigan State on Friday (BTN Plus).
• Opened Big Ten play last Friday with a 2-0 loss to last year's regular season champion, Michigan. (Recap | Postgame Video)

Volleyball (6-7)
• Travels to Maryland for the Big Ten opener on Wednesday (7 p.m., BTN Plus) before a Saturday trip to No. 6 Wisconsin (2 p.m., BTN Plus).
• Went 1-2 at UConn's Dog Pound Challenge with four-set losses to St. John's and the host Huskies preceding a four-set victory over Holy Cross on Saturday.
• Senior outside hitter Sahbria McLetchie was named to the All-Tournament Team with 44 kills (3.67 per set) on a .255 attack percentage, along with 13 total blocks during the three-match weekend.
• Ranked third in the nation as of Sept. 13 with 3.07 team blocks per set.
Men's Cross Country
• Competed at the Iona College Meet of Champions on Friday, where Patrick Walsh paced the Scarlet Knights with a time of 26:45.2.
Women's Cross Country
• Returns to competition at the annual Paul Short Invitational (6K) hosted by Lehigh.
• Got an early look at the Big Ten Championship course competing at the 29th annual Greeno/Dirksen Invitational (6K) hosted by Nebraska on Saturday. Placed seventh in a field of 12, placing ahead of host and fellow Big Ten member Nebraska. RU was led by Olympia Martin (22:04.08) with a 14th place finish.
Men's Golf
• Junior Tony Jiang tied for fifth at the Badger Invitational.
• Hosts its second-annual Hackberry Invitational on Friday before competing in the OTC Collegiate Invitational Sept. 24-25 in Winston Salem, North Carolina.
Women's Golf
• Returns to the links at the Nittany Lion Invitational, Sept. 22-23, in University Park, Pa.
• Tied for 12th with a 905 (306-299-300) at the 35th annual Mary Fossum Invitational at Michigan State.
Men's Basketball
• Shaq Doorson brings a big veteran presence to men's basketball in 2018-19.
• Alumni Myles Mack signed a professional contract with GTK Gliwice in Poland.
• Tipoff times and networks were announced for games against St. John's (7 pm on BTN, Nov. 16) and at Seton Hall (2 pm on FS1, Dec. 15).
Wrestling
• Announced its 2018 home dual with Rider will be moved to Sunday, Dec. 16 at the RAC.
• Coach Goodale visited the Rutgers ticket office and called season ticket holders.
Gymnastics
• Welcomed four newcomers to the team.
Women's Tennis
• Opens its fall campaign at the Brown Invite from Sept. 21-23.
Women's Lacrosse
• Unveiled its 2018 fall schedule, which includes three home dates open to the public at the F3 Practice Fields.
Softball
• Postponed its open tryouts to Saturday, Sept. 22 at the RU Softball Complex, open to all full-time Rutgers students. Paperwork is due on Thursday, Sept. 20.
