STANDOUT STATS
- Freshman outside hitter Tali Marmen led Rutgers with seven kills on a .333 swing percentage (7-1-18), adding four digs and two blocks.
- Freshman setter Inna Balyko, Marmen and Swackenberg each had a service ace.
- Freshman middle Merle Weidt posted a pair of blocks.
THE MOMENTS
- Set 2 | Rutgers launched to a 5-1 lead with aces by Balyko and Marmen, with Marmen and freshman middle Merle Weidt adding kills. Maryland used a 5-0 run to tie it at 8-8.
- Set 2 | RU led midway through the stanza via a 4-1 rally, sparked by a powerful solo block off the hands of Marmen, who also ended the spurt with a booming kill off the block for a 13-11 lead. The Terps rode two more 5-0 runs to take a 2-0 lead.
- Set 3 | Following a Jasmine Stackhouse kill, Rutgers trailed 5-4 before Maryland scored seven consecutive points to take control, 12-4.
- Set 3 | The Scarlet Knights fought back with a 4-0 rally behind kills from sophomore right side Beka Kojadinovic, Weidt and Marmen as RU trailed 17-12.
