Women's Cross Country Competes at Paul Short Invitational

45th Annual Race Takes Place on Saturday, Sept. 29
BETHLEHEM, Pa.- The Rutgers Women's Cross Country team will return to action to compete in the 45th annual Paul Short Invitational 6K Run hosted by Lehigh University on Saturday, September 29th.
The Paul Short Run is the largest intercollegiate cross country meet in the nation, with over 400 teams competing each year.
INTO THE REGIONAL RANKINGS: The Scarlet Knights moved into the Mid-Atlantic Regional rankings this week at No. 15. RU was last feature in the regional poll last season during week four.
LAST TIME AT PAUL SHORT:
In 2017, the Scarlet Knights placed 37th overall and collected six personal records. Sophomore, Olympia Martin was the top Scarlet Knights finisher in 2017, being the only team member to earn a sub 22-minute time with a time of 21:31.
LAST TIME OUT:
Rutgers got a preview of the upcoming Big Ten Championship course last weekend placing seventh at the 29th annual Greeno/Dirksen Invitational (6K) hosted by Nebraska last Saturday.
The Scarlet Knights were led by sophomore Olympia Martin, who placed 14th overall. It was the Ridgewood, New Jersey native's second top finish for RU as she led the Scarlet Knights as the first-place underclassman finisher at the Monmouth Kickoff (4K) earlier in the month.
Junior Emma Bergman was the second Scarlet Knight to the finish line in Lincoln, Nebraska last weekend, placing 28th overall, while classmate Nadia Saponara took 38th.
UP NEXT:
The Scarlet Knights will travel to State College, Pennsylvania for the Penn State Invitational on October, 12th.
