Men’s T/F Returns to New York for the Penn 8-Team Select

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers men's track and field returns to New York for the Penn 8-Team Select on Saturday, Jan. 19. The meet hosted by Penn at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island is set to begin at 4 p.m. ET.
RU'S LAST TIME OUT
Rutgers claimed the team title at the TCNJ Lions Indoor Invitational last Saturday evening at The Armory in the Bronx. The Scarlet Knights collected nine event titles overall, sweeping the long jump and 800m events, and placing first in the 4x400 and 4x800 team relays.
On the track, senior Izaiah Brown led the Scarlet Knights with two titles, including first place in the 200m and 400m. Sophomore Taj Burgess won the 500m title, while junior Jason Schweizer claimed the 800m title.
In field events, freshman A'Nan Bridgett claimed first in the long jump, junior Perry Christie collected the high jump title, and junior Tobi Tella placed first in the triple jump.
The 4x400m relay team consisting of Christopher Jenkins, Alanzo Aris, Sterling Pierce and Burgess clocked a time of 3:13.72 to come in first.
The 4x800m relay team of Dimitri Demos, Jared Skalski, Eric Barnes, and Billy Hill finished first with a time of 7:58.41.
