Tennis Hosts Delaware for Season Opener

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers women's tennis host Delaware for the season opener on Friday, Jan. 25. Match time is set for 12:30 p.m. at the East Brunswick Racquet Club.

RUTGERS QUICK HITS
- The 2019 campaign features 10 nonconference dual matches and the 11-match Big Ten slate. The match against Delaware kicks off the year, as well as the nine-match home slate.
- Rutgers returns juniors Jaci Cochrane, Kat Muzik, and Kyra Yap, and sophomores Isabelle Da Silva and Maya Jacobs, while welcoming freshmen Tess Fisher, Sydney Kaplan, and Kristiana Zahare to the roster.
- Cochrane and Jacobs were elected team captains for the season.
- Highlighting a strong fall campaign, five Scarlet Knights advanced to the quarterfinals of the ITA Northeast Regional Championships, the most for the program in recent years, including two pairs in doubles and an individual in singles.
- Head Coach Hilary Ritchie enters her third season at the helm of the program.

SCOUTING DELAWARE
- Delaware (1-1) opened the season with a 7-0 loss to Penn on Saturday and a 7-0 win over Mount St. Mary's on Monday.
- Head Coach Kelly Anderson enters her first season leading the program.
- The Scarlet Knights and Blue Hens met last season, when RU claimed 6-1 victory in Newark, Delaware.
