Oct 18 | Women's Golf
PISCATAWAY - Women's golf, No. 76 in the Golfstat national rankings, travels to Delaware for the Lady Blue Hen Invitational, played Saturday and Sunday at Rehoboth Beach Country Club. The 12-team event is the fifth and final tournament of the fall season for the Scarlet Knights.
Senior Carrie-Ann Lee, juniors Harriet Allsebrook and Eun Won Park, sophomore Maeve Rossi and freshman Anna-Maria Diederichs will comprise the RU squad for the third straight tournament under head coach Kari Williams. Freshmen Leigha Devine and Nicole Ewing will play individually.
RU will compete on the par 72, 6,169-yard course against a strong field that features host Delaware, Albany, Dartmouth, Harvard, Delaware State, Georgetown, Navy, Oklahoma City, Seton Hall, Towson and Penn.
Last fall, Rutgers placed sixth with a 911 (296-302-313) total at the Lady Blue Hen. Ashleigh Greenham paced RU with a 223 (74-77-72) to tie for fifth in the 71-player field.
The Scarlet Knights are coming off a third place showing with a 609 (305-304) total in challenging conditions at the 11-team Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational, Oct. 8-9, at Sahalee Country Club. Rutgers battled temperatures in the low-to-mid 40's on both days to finish just two strokes off the pace in a field featuring programs from the Pac 12, Big Ten and Big West Conferences.
After a practice round on Friday, 36 holes will be played on Saturda, with a final round on Sunday. Live scoring will be available via Golfstat. Rutgers is paired with Delaware and Seton Hall on Saturday, starting on holes one through four.
