One ticket is good for both games in the Rutgers women's and men's basketball doubleheader on Wednesday at the RAC
PISCATAWAY, N.J. (Nov. 12, 2019) - Rutgers women's basketball hosts Niagara on Wednesday, Nov. 13 at 6 p.m. in the first game of a women's and men's doubleheader at the RAC.
Walk-up and online tickets will get you in to both the women's and men's games. If you are a men's basketball season ticket holder, please bring both tickets and sit in your regular seating locations for each game. If you are not a men's basketball season ticket holder, you should have received a yellow parking pass in your season ticket package. Please bring it with you to park for free. You also should have received a separate mailer with a men's basketball ticket. Please bring that ticket, along with your women's basketball ticket, to the double header game. Sit in your regular women's basketball seat for the women's basketball game, then please move the location indicated on the men's basketball ticket at the conclusion of the women's game.
The Purple Eagles started the season 0-2 with a 71-67 overtime loss at St. Bonaventure and an 81-67 home loss to 2018-19 NCAA Tournament qualifier Buffalo. Freshman Adia Brisker is the reigning MAAC Rookie of the Week after averaging 9.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists over her first two games. Senior guard Jai Moore, a preseason All-MAAC First Team selection, is the returning leader on the offensive end of the court with 949 career points coming into the game at Rutgers. The Purple eagles have a +7 rebounding margin through two contests, and shoot .818 from the free throw line as a team.

WIN FOR THE AGES: The Scarlet Knights defeated Coppin State, 107-33, on Saturday at the RAC home opener, scoring its most points in a game since 1989 – five seasons before Coach Stringer took over the job. The 107-point onslaught was also the most at the RAC since 1988 and the most by any Stringer-led team since her penultimate game at Cheyney State in 1983. In the victory, Rutgers made 12 three-pointers, a new RAC record and tying the program record from 2006.
AG B1G POW: Redshirt junior guard Arella Guirantes of Rutgers women's basketball was named the first Big Ten Player of the Week of the 2019-20 season on Monday. The weekly honor marks the fifth time the Scarlet Knights have been awarded a Big Ten Player of the Week since joining the conference for the 2014-15 season. The last Big Ten Player of the Week from Rutgers was Kahleah Copper four years ago on Nov. 16, 2015. Guirantes netted 44 points on 15-of-34 shooting (.441) to lead a historic week for the Rutgers offense. A well-rounded stat sheet for the week included 12 rebounds, four blocks, four assists and a steal in 44 minutes of action.
NEW-LOOK KNIGHTS: Rutgers women's basketball enters the 2019-20 season without four of the top five leaders in games started from last winter. The eight returning Scarlet Knights (seven letterwinners) make up 29 percent of last year's games started. The first two starting lineups with last year's number of starts in parantheses: Khadaizha Sanders (0 – missed season with injury), Arella Guirantes (21), Tekia Mack (2), Mael Gilles (9) and Jordan Wallace (0).
SPEAKING OF THE STARTERS: The aforementioned Sanders (16), Guirantes (17), Mack (21), Gilles (16) and Wallace (10) all scored in double-figures against Coppin State, marking the first time all five Rutgers starters scored in double-digits since Dec. 20, 2013. Mack scored 21 points in each game during Opening Week, earning the honor of Big Ten Player of the Week from a private selection process by College Sports Madness on Monday.

Vivian Stringer earned her 500th win at the helm of the Scarlet Knights in the season opener at South Alabama, beginning her 25th season as Rutgers' head coach. Coach Stringer is now two wins away from tying UNC's Syliva Hatchell for fifth place all-time in NCAA women's basketball victories.
