Austyn Cuneo and Gianna Glatz Named All-Americans
Dec 10 | Field Hockey
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers field hockey had two student-athletes named All-Americans as Austyn Cuneo was named a Second Team All-American and Gianna Glatz was named a Third Team All-American. It was the first time since 1986 that Rutgers field hockey had two All-American selections in the same year (when Janice Fuls and Kirsten Ganshaw earned All-American honors). Both student-athletes earned their first career All-American honor.
"I'm delighted that Austyn and Gianna have been recognized for their consistently high level of play this year," head coach Meredith Civico said. "There is no doubt that they are two of the best hockey players in the country and they are deserved All-Americans."

Austyn Cuneo led the team this season with eight goals and eight assists for 25 points. The Waterford Works, N.J. native was previously recognized as a First Team All-Region and Second Team All-Big Ten selection. She was a two-time Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week, earning the accolade first following a three goal, two assist weekend in wins over No. 24 Maine and Ball State, then after two goals and two assists in wins over No. 7 Michigan and Temple that also earned her national player of the week honors. A redshirt senior, the team captain was selected by the NFHCA to play in this year's Senior Game and scored a goal in that game. In the back's Rutgers career, she scored 19 goals and had 15 assists for 53 points in 52 games.
Gianna Glatz was one of just three goalkeepers to earn All-American honors. She was previously named First Team All-Region and First Team All-Big Ten this season following a year in which the junior recorded nine wins as the starting goalkeeper with a 1.49 goals-against-average and a .740 save percentage on 71 saves. The Medford, N.J. native notched four shutouts and was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week on September 23 for her performance in the win over No. 6 Princeton. For her career, she has started 54 games with a 31-23 record, 1.67 goals-against-average, .727 save percentage on 232 saves and 12 shutouts.
